Golden Style Review

Editorial policy

Golden Style Review aims to make thoughtful, accurate writing about personal style. We distinguish explanation from opinion, describe uncertainty plainly and correct material errors when they are brought to our attention.

Accuracy and sources

We check factual claims against suitable sources and take care with dates, terminology and historical context. When a piece depends on interpretation, we make that clear. We do not present personal preference as a universal rule, or promise that a garment, product or routine will suit everyone.

Independence and conflicts

Editorial decisions are made for their relevance to readers, not as a guarantee of coverage for a partner or product. Writers and editors should disclose relevant interests that could affect a piece; where an interest cannot be managed transparently, we may decline the work.

Corrections

Readers can flag a possible error through the Contact page. We review specific, actionable reports and correct significant factual mistakes, clarifying the change where appropriate. A correction is not a promise to adopt every suggested interpretation.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid, gifted or otherwise partner-supported material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Partner placements are identified as such. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where used, they are labelled, and they are not presented as documentary photographs.
